Spread /Damaged Cord – Pencil shaped bulge in the sidewall of a radial tire.
Cuts and Snags – Scrapes, gouges or cuts in the sidewall.
Sidewall Separation – Irregular shaped bulge in sidewall that may progress to complete separation of sidewall rubber from the casing exposing the ply cords.
Vehicle /Equipment Damage – Uniform scuffing or cutting on some major portion of the tire’s outer surface.
Weathering – Numerous tiny cracks in the rubber surface, usually around the circumference of the tire.
Impact Break – Break in the sidewall through the casing. This condition will usually deteriorate quickly to a radial runflat appearance.
Circumferential Fatigue Rupture (Zipper) – A circumferential break in the sidewall exposing an even line of broken cords.
